Employee Handbook

The whole idea of an employee handbook is that everyone works from the same rules, written down in one place. When it works, it's one of the most valuable things you own. For an employee, it's how they find out about how time off works, without having to ask in front of everybody. For a manager, it's one place to point to, the same answer no matter who's on. And for you, the owner, it's you setting down in writing how you want your business to run. That's the promise anyway. In a small business today, it rarely keeps that promise for three reasons. First, it's difficult to get to. It's a binder in the office or on a PDF in an email from the employee's first week. When the question comes up on the floor late at night or on their day off, the handbook is nowhere to be found. Second, it's hard to keep current. Changing one policy means editing, reprinting, and redistributing the employee handbook again. So nobody does it, and the real rules end up in your head or in a group text. Third, it's hard to get it to people. It's handed out once on day one with the tax forms. After that, every update is another copy, and nobody's sure which one is current. So the handbook doesn't get asked, you do. CircleUp puts your handbook where your team already is, in the phone, in their pocket. Upload the employee handbook you already have. Then on every CircleUp, when someone asks, “How much notice do I have to give for time off?” The AI answers from your handbook and shows the page that it came from. When something changes, you don't reprint it, you just build on it right there inside CircleUp. Add a new question and its answer. Edit one that's out of date. Remove one that no longer applies. The AI works from your changes right alongside the handbook and for your whole team. So say someone asks, “Do we get paid for the holiday if we're closed that day?” and your handbook doesn't say. The AI never answers with a guess. The question comes back to you, the person who recorded the CircleUp. You type your answer and right there, before you send it, you can choose to have your answer saved directly into the employee handbook. One answer, two jobs, and they get their reply and your handbook now covers it for all your other employees. The next person who asks on any CircleUp gets it directly from the AI from your handbook. That's how your handbook gets built on the fly, one real question at a time. And there's nothing to hand out. There's one handbook answering on every CircleUp, every question from every employee, so everyone gets the same current answer. Upload next year's edition in the same place and everything you've added carries over. The handbook you already wrote, now one you can build and change as you go. You're inside a CircleUp right now. Ask it anything below. And if you run the floor, there's a video about the rest of your day too.
